Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his first title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

The win also means he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.

However the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded break points in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
